高円宮杯全日本中学校英語弁論大会 広島県大会で第3位入賞、全国大会進出

Karin Fujioka Wins Third Place, Advances to National Round of the Prince Takamado Speech Contest

We are proud to share that two 8th grade students from Hiroshima Jogakuin recently represented our school at the prefectural round of the 77th H.I.H. Prince Takamado Trophy All-Japan Inter-Middle School English Oratorical Contest.

The Prince Takamado Trophy is Japan’s most prestigious English speech contest for junior high school students. Since its inception in 1949, it has provided a platform for youth to express original thoughts in English and to cultivate global awareness.

Both students gave excellent performances and showed great effort in preparing and presenting their speeches. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to both competitors for their dedication and courage in taking part in such a challenging contest.

Special recognition goes to Ms.Karin Fujioka, who earned third place in the prefectural contest. With this accomplishment, she will advance to the national competition in Tokyo, where she will compete against top students from across Japan.

Ms. Fujioka’s speech, titled “Dare to Be,” focuses on the importance of life-affirming self-acceptance. Addressing the very real issues of depression and feelings of isolation that many teenagers face, her message encourages young people to embrace themselves and find hope. We believe her words will not only resonate with her fellow contestants but also inspire others to take positive steps toward a brighter future.

Fellow 8th grader Ms. Mao Kobayashi also made us proud with her speech, “Every Cloud Has a Silver Lining.” With warmth and optimism, she reminded us all to face challenges with courage and to look ahead with a smile. Her message of resilience and positivity will surely continue to encourage her classmates and community alike.

The entire Jogakuin community is proud of both students’ achievements. We congratulate them warmly, and we send Ms. Fujioka our very best wishes as she prepares for the national stage in Tokyo.
