Yesterday was the annual English Speech & Presentation Contest in the high school. Three 10th grade students gave speeches, and five 11th grade students gave presentations.
The speeches were all great topics from social discrimination to living in harmony with bears. The presentations were on the theme “What should Hiroshima do to be a more sustainable tourist destination?” We saw wonderful presentations with great ideas using SDG’s to support them. Ideas ranged from stopping hotel and restaurant food waste to promoting eco-tourism in various parts of the prefecture.
Prizes were awarded in two categories. First was the best speech chosen by the judges, and the second prize was the students’ choice prize. All of the students voted for the speech they liked the best.
Congratulations to the winners, and well done to all who participated.
