Morning
Today was the last whole day in Hawaii. We visited the University of Hawaii Manoa in the morning. We had a tour around the campus and learned the history of the university and saw the many types of trees on campus. After that, we met the university students and introduced ourselves to each other. Then, we made a short presentation about paper cranes and Sadako Sasaki. Finally, we chatted and made paper cranes together.
Afternoon
We visited St. Andrew’s School after going to the University of Hawaii Manao. First, we took a tour lead by students studying Japanese. The cathedral at St. Andrew’s School was very beautiful and large. We gave the presentation about Hiroshima and our school to their Japanese students. After that, we split into groups, and they taught us how to make ti leaf leis. Ti leaves are regarded as sacred leaves in Hawaii. We taught them how to make paper cranes. During our field trip in Hawaii, we were able to connect with many people.
