Morning
Kaka’ako Farmer’s Market

King Kamehameha Statue

We went to a farmers’ market and split into groups for some free time. We had a great time shopping and enjoying lunch. Then, a tour guide showed us around the sights, which helped us learn more about Hawaii’s history.

Afternoon
Naomi-sensei’s Presentatiom

We listened to a lecture by Ms. Naomi Hirano-Omizu and gained a deeper understanding of the experiences of Japanese Americans. We had a group discussion about why learning about discrimination against Japanese Americans is a good thing, and how this knowledge relates to world peace today.
